Larger Installations and Home Statement Pieces

Shelley completed a number of pieces, commissioned by the designer for this beautiful home in Kohanaiki on Hawaii island.

Custom "Wa'a" (Canoe) for private home. Measuring 5 feet long, made from two Chambreyonia Palm sheaths hand stitched together. Hand marbled paper from Renato Crepaldi (Brazilian artist) embellish the underside of the canoe. Painted Hawaiian Ohia wood branches form the legs and an archival (museum quality) encaustic wax finish completes the piece.

In the same home, Shelley created a special sculptural piece to create a focal point above the entry doors, it also cleverly hid the boxed in air conditioning unit.

"Loa" which means long, is over 10 feet long, and made from three Royal palm sheaths stitched together to form the sculptural body. The insides of the two open ends were embellished with more of the Renato Crepaldi hand marbled paper from Brazil.
