Inspired by all interpretations of three sisters - whether it's the Native American squash, corn and beans, or our natal family, or even our human family - this set is designed to celebrate diversity and honor the power we have when we combine our strengths and appreciate each other for the unique role we each play.
Iki means "little" in Hawaiian. This set of Three Sisters is the iki version. Each vessel is made from a single Red Sealing Wax Palm sheath that has a wood base. The top is the organic ruffled edge of the sheath, and the color is natural too. The bottom trim is hand-made paper, and they have a hand rubbed polyurethane finish. Weighted in the bottom for stability when a gentle breeze blows through your home.
The last image shows a different set (no longer available) with faux succulents (not included) on a kitchen counter, I've included it as a design idea. An exceptional stand alone trio on their own, the addition of faux greenery or dried branches will create a stunning statement piece that will draw eye upward. You can also change them up throughout the year depending on the season.
Three Sisters can be also commissioned in other colors, natural or embellished.
Like all of Shelley's creations, this is a one of a kind piece that cannot be duplicated; it is literally a piece of Hawaiʻi Island. Each sheath is sustainably harvested from natural fallen leaves from beautiful, giant palm trees (about 10 different varieties). A wonderful way to remember your island experience or bring the warmth of the tropics into everyday life. #takehawaiihome
